
UNIFORM GUIDELINES
Uniforms are a vital part of our band’s identity and professionalism. Proper care and presentation reflect the pride we take in every performance—whether on the field or on the concert stage.
Below is a breakdown of uniform expectations by ensemble and role.
Marching Band Uniforms
What’s Included:
- Shako (hat) + plume
- Jacket
- Bibbers (black overall-style pants)
- Gloves (2 pairs for brass/woodwinds)
- Band T-shirt (worn under jacket)
- Marching shoes (black)
- Drawstring bag (provided)
What Students Provide:
- Tall black socks
- Black compression or athletic shorts (knee length)
- Additional gloves or shoes as needed (can be purchased through BoosterHub)
First-Year Marchers:
- Must purchase the Rookie Package ($100)
- Includes bibbers, shoes, band shirt, gloves, and one-time uniform rental fee
Returning Marchers:
- Pay an annual Uniform Cleaning Fee ($50)
Care & Cleaning
- Bibbers must be cleaned after each performance
- Uniform pieces must be stored properly on hangers
- Shoes and gloves must be clean and in good condition before every event
- Students are financially responsible for lost or damaged uniform items
Tip: Keep a spare pair of black socks and gloves in your drawstring bag just in case!
Concert Attire (Symphonic Band)
Concert performances require formal dress to ensure a uniform and professional appearance.
Girls:
- Black concert dress (provided or purchased by Boosters, $40–$45)
Boys/Girls:
- Black tuxedo shirt + blue bowtie ($25)
Fittings:
- Occur in early November during class
- Families are responsible for any alterations needed
Guard Uniforms (Color Guard + Winter Guard)
Guard uniforms vary each season based on the show design.
Included in Guard Rookie Package ($100):
- Costume rental fee
- Guard shoes
- Band shirt
- Guard gloves (first pair)
Care Instructions:
- Uniforms are typically hand-wash only—care instructions will be sent home each season
- Students are expected to keep shoes and gloves clean and ready for every performance
Replacement Items
Lost or damaged items can be reordered through the Booster Hub Store:
- Gloves: $5/pair
- Band Shirts: $10
- Marching Shoes: $35
- Guard Gloves: $15 (after first pair)
- Concert Items: Prices vary by supplier
Uniform Rules at Events
- Students must remain in full uniform unless directed otherwise
- No visible jewelry, colorful socks, or hair accessories
- Hair must be styled neatly and may be required to be tucked up for shako
- No eating or drinking (except water) while in full uniform
- Respect uniform crew volunteers—they're here to help you look sharp!
